Apologies for the lack of updates, it’s been a long week.
Last week started off badly with a callout on Sunday evening that saw us stood down en route. Nothing unusual, but the week carried on badly with a funeral on Thursday, coupled with a search for a missing person in Pembroke Dock, which I couldn’t attend as I was in the funeral. Thursday evening then saw another callout, this time for a woman and child stranded in a 4×4 on Senghenydd mountain, right behind my house. Unfortunately, I was already on the A470 by the time I had the details and so I couldn’t turn around before Merthyr. We got stood down fairly quickly again on this one. Friday night saw me expecting to go out to look at some stars with Nath (finally!) but unfortunately his grandfather had a fall and so that was scuppered.
What with the numerous callouts, this month’s exercise was cancelled and though I was fully expecting a busy weekend from the weather, there wasn’t so much as a peep from the pager. It has however been exceedingly cold, and I hear that snow is forecast for the end of the week.
I’m not sure what to do for Christmas this year – my sister’s invited me up, but I’ve got some work to do while everyone else is on holiday and I want to be back down here to have a bit of a dinner in the house. I don’t really want to be in the house on my own though. Meh. We’ll see. I’m having a serious “Bah, humbug” reaction to Christmas this year, perhaps because Gav actually decided to stay with Nath on Christmas day.
Anyway, that’s enough for now, I stumbled and twatted my finger yesterday, so typing is…interesting at the moment. Oh, if anyone is looking for a room to rent in the Cardiff area, let me know. I’m renting out my spare room. 🙂
