Meh. Finished, at last. Back on days tomorrow.

This week is a doss week – 1 day off in lieu, 3 days training 1 day of visit from an engineer. Woot. Then it’s 3 weeks to go. 🙂

I’d forgotten how badly nights fucks up your stomach. I’m feeling quite sick right now, but I’m aware that I probably should eat something. Harumpf.

On an interesting aside, reading my “talking to dogs” book last night, I found out that apparently dogs can smell cancer. A woman had a dog who smelled the small of her back every time she sat down. While sunbathing one morning, the dog was smelling her back and bit her, as if to remove something that smelled bad. Once they’d all calmed down, her husband pointed out that there was a small mole there and that she should see the doc about it. She capitulated just to shut him up. By mid-afternoon she was in theater getting a particularly vicious form of melanoma removed.

Apparently dogs can smell something given off by the cancerous tissue. People with cancer walking into a room will attract attention from the dogs. Perhaps cancer-sniffing dogs isn’t such a bad idea after all.
